Opal
(Lavender + Amelanism)
In my opinion, opals are some of the
most beautiful hatchlings. When born, they exhibit amazingly bright
shades of coral, pink, and orange with white accents. As they grow to 3
feet in length (24-36 months old) their colors become more subdued and
pastel. As adults they are a soft or bright white with flecks or splotches
of peach, pink or coral. Just like the gemstone, each is different and
they have a subtle beauty. The Motley, Stripe and Diffused patterns will also typically enhance and
brighten the colors. Some variations are pure white - these may go by the
trade name of "Pearl Corns".
Our selective breeding is focused on producing high color opals that retain
their bright tones.
