Hypomelanism
( Hypomelanism,   aka: -Hypo A)

Hypomelanism simply means a reduction in black pigment.  Hypo corn snakes are as varied as normal corn snakes.  The hypomelanism gene reduces the black pigment and as a result will brighten the color tones of the snake, (bringing out more of the red and orange tones).  Some hypo snakes will exhibit almost no black saddle borders while in others the borders will appear as a dark brown instead of black.
